You didn’t think a pandemic would prevent cannabis events, did you? Think again! All over the world people are getting creative to virtually bond over their appreciation to marijuana. Below is a breakdown of a variety of upcoming cannabis events that are taking over the virtual sphere in the next few months.
When: Wed, July 15, 2020, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM EDT
Last week, we wrote a blog post that gave you an overview about the health benefits of medical marijuana. If you are interested in learning more but feeling intimidated by all the resources out there, this free 101 Class is a great place to start.
CurioWellness is hosting the event. They are a premium medicinal cannabis brand based in Maryland, and serves as an introduction to medical cannabis. In this free class, they will be covering physiological effects, proper dosing strategies, dosage forms, how to avoid side effects, legal regulations, and more. They even promise there will be plenty of time for a question and answer.
Register for free on the class’s Eventbrite.
When: Thursday, May 28, 2020, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT
If you feel like you already know the basics of medical marijuana but want an opportunity to ask more advanced questions, this free cannabis event is for you. This Facebook Live Q&A is hosted by April, a registered nurse with 15 years of experience and a Master’s in Public Health Nursing.
Email your questions to April ahead of time to ensure it gets answered. firstname.lastname@example.org
When: Thursdays, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM EDT throughout June 2020
Cost: $40 for 4 classes and recipes
Now that we’re all staying home and cooking more, might as well learn how to throw cannabis into the pan as well! This cannabis event involves four classes co-taught by Jacquie Cohen Roth, the Founder/CEO of CannabizMD, and Chef Jazz, the Founder/CEO of Green Panther Chef.
These classes are intended for the novice cook and will go over the basics of incorporating cannabis into your meals. They promise the classes will cover education about the endocannabinoid system + basic cannabinoids, decarboxylation + dosing, as well as an introduction to terpenes. If you like food and have no idea what half of those words in the previous sentence meant, this class may be for you!
Jacquie and Chef Jazz teach the classes via Zoom. Afterwards, they give you the recipes to keep and try on your own. Happy cooking!
When: Saturday, Jun 13th and Jun 27th, 7pm-9pm MST
Cost: $53 for classes and shipped art kit for two people
Puff Pass Paint is the marijuana version of drink and paint classes. In this cannabis event, an instructor walks you through how to make a cannabis-inspired painting step-by-step while you smoke together.
Puff Pass Paint usually holds their classes in studios all over the country. However, in light of social distancing, they've taken to the virtual sphere! They will even ship a kit of art materials and hemp directly to your door so you can follow along. The kits include all painting materials you need for two people to follow along. They're sending out canvas panels, brushes, acrylic paints, rolling papers, lighter, and 1/8 of smokable hemp!
Don’t be afraid if you’ve never picked up a brush before and don’t feel like this will be too easy if you have an MFA. Classes are for all skill levels. “Puff, Pass & Paint isn't about making the perfect piece of art. It's about being part of an atmosphere that is relaxed, comfortable, open-minded, and allowing yourself to freely create your own original masterpiece.”
When: Sun, May 31, 2020, 2-3:00PM (MDT)
Have you never meditated before and are curious on how to become more grounded in a world of panic? Is meditation part of your daily routine but you haven’t experienced it in a group setting that's centered on cannabis? Whatever your experience is with meditation, marijuana, or a combination of those two things, this free cannabis event is an opportunity to connect with others and yourself.
The meditation begins with a smoke session. All it requires is a comfortable place to sit up straight, a blanket, a water bottle, comfy clothes. Of course, if you wish, the event is BYOC (bring your own cannabis).
The host, the Mary Jane Experience, also has a podcast and holds other cannabis events like trivia nights and DIY walkthroughs of how to make cannabis butter and oil.
